PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jordan Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mik Vik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vik has chosen Papas got a brand new bag as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jordan Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mik Vik!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Dillan Fox and Robert Douchet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee throws a looping overhand right but Vik ducks down to avoid it.
Vik throws a nice looking combination but Lee bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Lee drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Vik looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Lee drops back, looking for a kneebar! Vik looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Vik looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Vik!
Lee is trying to get back to half guard.

Vik stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Vik darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Mik Vik seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A left and a right from Vik both land. Nice combination.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lee takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Vik looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Vik throws a series of punches but Lee moves out of range.
Lee shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Lee steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Vik.

Lee closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Vik manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lee throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Lee uses his free foot to push down on Vik's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Vik.

Lee lands a big shot there that rocks Vik but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Vik wants to get back to full guard.
Lee working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Lee has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Lee is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Vik as he works his way to full guard.
Lee is breathing heavily.

Lee postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Vik is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Lee, into his guard.
Vik not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Lee is striking off his back. Vik thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard.
Vik is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Lee!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

A close round but Mik Vik will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Lee is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Vik's half guard.

Lee has hold of Vik's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Vik manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Lee scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Vik tries to hold on but Lee postures up.
Lee is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Vik is breathing heavily.

Lee is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Vik can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Vik is in a horrible position here. Lee smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Lee goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Vik is on top in guard.
Lee is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Lee takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lee accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Vik takes a jab right on the kisser.
Vik is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Lee.
Vik misses the jab.
Lee misses with a takedown attempt - Vik sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Vik gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Lee sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Vik's guard.
Vik tries to kick Lee off but Lee keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Lee wants to pass the guard but Vik is defending well.

Lee pushes down on Vik's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Vik flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Lee shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Vik but Vik pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Lee looks to land a combination. Vik sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Vik swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

so Lee counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Lee postures up in Vik's guard and throws a big left but Vik blocks it.
Lee wants to pass the guard but Vik is keeping the position.
Vik is looking to stand up but Lee isn't so interested in that idea.
Vik is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Lee lands a couple of digs.
Lee pushes down on Vik's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Lee tries to pass to full mount but Vik defends it.

Lee is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Lee moves nicely into side control.
Vik tries to bench press Lee off him but Lee keeps the position.
Lee advances nicely into full mount.

Vik has left one of his arms exposed and Lee doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Vik screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
