Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Callaghan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paul Stone has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Stone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Peter Callaghan!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Andrew Berry and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stone fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Callaghan sprawls well initially but Stone persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Callaghan is defending against the submission attempts here by Stone.

Stone is looking for a kimura but Callaghan is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Stone to get the leverage.
Stone is trying to control the action in half guard but Callaghan is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Callaghan is looking to escape.
Stone will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Stone seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Callaghan does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Stone wants to pass the guard but Callaghan is defending well.
Callaghan tries to kick Stone off but Stone keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Callaghan lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Callaghan clinches up with Stone and pushes him back against the cage.
A short body shot lands from Callaghan as the two fighters clinch.
Callaghan throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Stones head.
Callaghan tries to break the clinch but Stone is controlling the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stone changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Callaghan fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Stone tries to clinch up

and Callaghan counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Callaghan.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Callaghan takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Callaghan is trying to break free.
Stone wants a takedown but no success here.
Callaghan lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Callaghan lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Callaghan wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Stone has him pressed against the cage.
Stone tries to pull guard but Callaghan won't allow it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paul Stone. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Stone jumps into guard, dragging Callaghan to the mat.
Callaghan has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Stone is proving hard to escape from.

Stone wriggles free and stands up.
Stone has a takedown stuffed.
Stone is breathing heavily.
A combination from Callaghan does no damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Callaghan lands a with a good body shot.
Callaghan throws a series of punches but Stone moves out of range.
Callaghan scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Stone doesn't seem bothered though.

Stone feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Callaghan is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Stone is controlling him.
Callaghan keeping moving, preventing Stone from controlling successfully.
Callaghan wants to stand and escape but Stone is having none of it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Stone throws a big right hand that misses.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
A combination from Callaghan does no damage.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Callaghan!
Peter Callaghan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Stone closes this distance looking for a takedown but Callaghan circles away.
Stone shoots and misses

and Callaghan counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Callaghan is trying to break free.
Stone wants a takedown.
Stone drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Callaghan gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Callaghan tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Stone's elbow.
Stone has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Callaghan avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Stone wants a takedown but no success here.

Stone successfully pulls guard.
Stone manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Callaghan manages to get himself to full guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Callaghan can do anything to dispel that myth.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Stone advances to half guard.

Callaghan is pushing off trying to get to his feet. Stone has hold of the leg though and he's dropped back for a heel hook… has he got it?? YES! Callaghan is tapping! This fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:02 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Heel Hook). Paul Stone!
