The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Svenstroem tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Heijdens paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Svenstroem wants to clinch.
Svenstroem shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Heijdens as he jumps to the side.
Heijdens moves into the clinch.
Svenstroem has Heijdens pressed against the cage.

Heijdens using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Svenstroem is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Magnus Svenstroem.

and Heijdens finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.

Svenstroem gets caught flat footed, as Heijdens shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Heijdens not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Svenstroem can't keep his opponent in guard - Heijdens advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Heijdens wants to work for an arm triangle but Svenstroem is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Heijdens seems to be looking for submissions.
Heijdens wants to take a breather but Svenstroem is having none of it.
Heijdens keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Svenstroem is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Heijdens's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Heijdens's back!

I really don't envy Heijdens right now.
Heijdens trying to control the hands but Svenstroem won't let him.

Svenstroem is working for a rear naked choke. Heijdens is not defending it well and Svenstroem has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Heijdens refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Heijdens's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
