The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blackson tries for a takedown but Staley sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Staley stops a takedown attempt from Blackson.
Blackson misses with the head strike.
Staley looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Blackson tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Staley is trying to break free.

Blackson is fighting off a takedown attempt but Staley is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Blackson to the mat. Blackson regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Staley won't allow Blackson to sweep him here.

Blackson tries to get to full guard but Staley has control of the leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Staley tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Staley blocks the strikes from Blackson.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Staley motions for Blackson to come forward. Staley throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Staley shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Blackson counters with a takedown into side control.
Staley sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Blackson is working for a submission of some sort.
Blackson is breathing heavily.
Staley is trying to stand back up but Blackson is controlling him
Staley trying to hold on to Blackson's head to control him but Blackson postures up.
Staley is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Staley is staying active underneath Blackson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Blackson winds up and cracks Staley with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Blackson drops an elbow to the side of Staley's head.

Blackson is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Staley looks calm but he's in trouble here. Blackson gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Staley is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Blackson lets go of the hold and Staley can pop his arm back in it's socket.
