Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Petrovolinksi Kotoski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bonzi Williams!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Igor Prikhodko and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kotoski takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Kotoski shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Williams as he avoids it easily.
Williams misses with a jab, cross combination.
Kotoski shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Williams misses with a wild combination.
Kotoski closes this distance looking for a takedown but Williams circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Petrovolinksi Kotoski. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Williams throws a combination. Kotoski tries to block but a couple of punches get through.


It looks like Petrovolinksi Kotoski has been cut.
Kotoski looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Williams is fending him off so far but Kotoski persists. Nope, Williams circles away and we're back to standing.
Williams stuffs the takedown.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Williams is pressed up against the cage. Kotoski has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Williams down to the mat. Williams avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Kotoski looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Kotoski misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Williams misses with a series of wild punches.
Kotoski fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Kotoski fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Williams fails with an attempt to clinch.

Kotoski closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Williams parries the strikes from Kotoski easily there. Kotoski is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Williams to escape.
Williams prevents Kotoski from improving position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Williams can do anything to dispel that myth.
Williams wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Kotoski tries to move into full mount but can't pass Williams's legs.
Kotoski in side control, throwing shots but Williams defends.
Williams really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kotoski. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Williams is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Kotoski asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Kotoski thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Williams parries the strikes from Kotoski easily there. Kotoski is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Williams to escape.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Williams fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Kotoski drives through with a takedown into guard.
Kotoski stops Williams from standing up.

Williams utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Williams has his feet on Kotoski's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Williams lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Williams throws a right hand that Kotoski ducks under and follows up with a left that Kotoski also avoids with ease.
Williams wants to clinch up but Kotoski keeps it at a distance.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kotoski misses with a takedown attempt - Williams sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Kotoski gets the takedown into side control.

Kotoski wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Williams, who protects the arm well.
Williams takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kotoski creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Williams sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Kotoski is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Williams looks calm but he's in trouble here. Kotoski gets his head over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Williams is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Kotoski lets go of the hold and Williams can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Petrovolinksi Kotoski!
