The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McGuire drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
McGuire wants to get up but he can't break Richards's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Richards had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. McGuire is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Richards Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take McGuire's back instead.

McGuire changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Richards looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Richards is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if McGuire gets his way!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
