PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Slade Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Dockerey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Slade Steel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brian Dockerey!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Joseph Jones and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steel thows a body shot but no joy.
Dockerey tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Steel swivels and escapes.
Danga de danga de dang - Steel scores with a four punch combination!
Dockerey dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Steel misses with a hook.
An inside leg kick lands from Dockerey.
Dockerey moves away from the strike by Steel.
Dockerey slips a straight right by Steel.
Dockerey fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Dockerey changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Steel tries to avoid it but Dockerey manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Steel to the ground. Steel escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Slade Steel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brian Dockerey.
Steel misses with a body shot
and Dockerey counters with a series of strikes. Steel will be more careful next time no doubt.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Steel throws a combination that misses

and Dockerey counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Steel slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dockerey with a nice head shot there.
Dockerey slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Steel has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Dockerey off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Dockerey looks to land a right hand but Steel moved out of range.
Steel with a body punch. A glancing blow.

Steel throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Dockerey checks a leg kick.
Steel is looking to chop away at Dockerey's legs.
Steel pivots, looking for a leg kick but Dockerey is out of range and Steel settles back down.
A slow jab from Steel misses its intended target.
Dockerey throws a right hand that Steel ducks under and follows up with a left that Steel also avoids with ease.
Steel throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Dockerey counters with a nice body kick.
Steel thows a left - swing and a miss!
Dockerey shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Steel lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Steel throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Steel crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Dockerey - the referee stops the clock and Steel gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Dockerey. Steel manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Steel misses with a looping left.
Dockerey closes this distance looking for a takedown but Steel circles away.
Dockerey looks gassed!
Steel leaves Dockerey with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
A punch combination from Steel misses.
Steel throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Steel looks to land a combination but Dockerey avoids it well.
A chopping leg kick lands by Steel.
Steel fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Dockerey looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Steel bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Nice defenses there by Dockerey.
Dockerey slips under a jab.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Steel dips to his left and cracks Dockerey with an uppercut!
Dockerey keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Steel tries to bum rush Dockerey with a series of wild strikes but Dockerey uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
The fighters circling - Steel throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Steel misses with a wild combination.
Steel throws a hook but Dockerey blocks it.
Dockerey looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dockerey showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Steel.
Dockerey keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Slade Steel dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Steel misses with a jab, cross combination.
Dockerey misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Steel throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Dockerey blocks a low kick nicely.
Steel throws a leg kick
and Dockerey counters with a series of strikes. Steel will be more careful next time no doubt.
A jab from Steel finds it's way through Dockerey's defenses.
Steel waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Dockerey.
Dockerey keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Steel.
Steel stuffs the takedown attempt from Dockerey. Dockerey gets slowly back to his feet.
A big right from Steel misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Steel lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Dockerey backs up against the cage.
Steel lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Dockerey is breathing heavily.
A swing and a miss from Steel.
A punch lands to the side of Dockerey 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Steel scores with a three punch combo!


Dockerey is rocked!
Slade Steel is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Steel drops Dockerey with a naaaaasty hook - Dockerey is in real trouble here! Steel dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Slade Steel!
