Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Peter Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Guss Griswald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Griswald has chosen I Set My Friends On Fire - Aiden as his entrance music. Peter Griffin has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Peter Griffin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Guss Griswald!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Anthony Taglia and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griffin looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Griffin throws a series of punches but Griswald avoids them all with ease.
Griswald tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Griswald fails to land the takedown.
Griffin bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Griswald shoots in looking for a takedown. Griffin tries to sprawl out of it but Griswald keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Griffin manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Griswald tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Griswald doesn't manage to clinch there - Griffin circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Griffin changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Griswald looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
What's Griswald going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.
Griffin misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

A bit of a lull in the action here.
Griswald is trying to get back to half guard.
Griffin throws an elbow but Griswald slips to the side and avoids it well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Griffin thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
You can see the frustration on Griswald's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Griswald is looking to reverse the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Griffin makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Peter Griffin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Guss Griswald.

Griffin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Griswald.
Griffin fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Guss Griswald seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Griffin is looking to score with low kicks.
Griswald wants to clinch
and Griffin counters with a nice low kick that buckles Griswald's knee momentarily.
Griffin plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Griswald clinches but Griffin breaks the clinch
and Griffin counters with a right hand to the body.
Griswald looks gassed!

Griffin swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Griffin fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Griswald looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Griswald gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Griffin counters with a three punch combo that has Griswald backing up. Griswald nods at Griffin to acknowledge the strikes.

Griffin darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Griffin winds up and cracks Griswald with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Griffin lands with a punch from half guard.
Griswald on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Griffin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Griffin content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Griswald is not content to let Griffin control the position.

Griswald is on the bottom, trying to hold on to half guard. He's throwing a few small shots here, to keep his opponent honest.

Peter Griffin dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Griffin counters with a head kick that drops Griswald!
Griffin cracks Griswald with a solid left hand.
Griffin trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Griffin connects with a couple of short punches.

Griffin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Griswald looking to hit a scissor sweep but Griffin is one step ahead there.
Griswald can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Griffin controls the pace.
Griswald is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Griswald manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Griffin manages to get himself to full guard.

Griffin is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Griswald defends well.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Griffin is on top in guard.

Griswald has his foot on Griffin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Griffin works his way back into a safe position though.

Griffin drops back looking for a leg! Griswald is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Griswald manages to kick Griffin off! Griffin jumps back into Griswald's guard.

Griswald sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Griffin is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Griswald has managed to free his arm - good work.

Griswald is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Griffin looking to sit in guard and control but Griswald gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Griswald throws out a loose jab but Griffin uses good head movement to avoid it.
Griffin ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Griffin pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Griffin fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Griswald sprawls well initially but Griffin persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Griffin is working for a guillotine from mount but Griswald frees his head quite easily.

Griffin lands a big shot there that rocks Griswald but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Griffin is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Griswald is surviving well by controlling Griffin's body position as best he can.

Griswald is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Griffin is aware though and is defending well.
Griswald is the more experienced fighter here and he's going to need to draw on some of that experience if he's going to pull this one out the bag.

Well Griffin has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
