The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barcello shoots in for a double leg but Jones sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Jones connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Barcello shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jones pinned against the cage. Jones gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Barcello changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jones tries to avoid it but Barcello manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jones to the ground. Jones escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Angus Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrew Barcello.
Barcello tries for a takedown but Jones sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Barcello shoots in but Jones avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Andrew Barcello seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jones ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

No joy there for Jones, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Jones rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Barcello moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Barcello must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Jones bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Barcello's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jones is on top in guard.
Barcello really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Barcello is trying to escape the mount but Jones keeps good control and instead manages to take Barcello's back.

Jones has the hooks in. Barcello is starting to panic. He's trying to push off one of the legs but he's left his neck open to attack. Jones passes his arm under Barcello's neck and tightens up a rear naked choke! This one is surely all over! Yes, Barcello taps!
