The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hudson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The referee asks Hudson politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Hudson prefers to stall for the moment though.

Michaelsen sneaks out the side door and pushes Hudson away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Hudson lands a nice looking kick to the body. Michaelsen takes a step back to recover.
Michaelsen shoots and misses

so Hudson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Michaelsen wants to stand up but Hudson is controlling him.
Michaelsen is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Hudson is stalling in the full guard.
Hudson wants to pass the guard but Michaelsen is keeping the position.
Michaelsen not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Michaelsen might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Hudson kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Hudson counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Michaelsen drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Hudson gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Tim Hudson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hansa Michaelsen.

Michaelsen tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Hudson has hold of Michaelsen's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Michaelsen seems comfortable defending it but Hudson has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Michaelsen is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Michaelsen is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Hudson couldn't care less - he's delighted!
