Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Seu Braga and Thiago Cunha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barreto moves out of range of the body kick.
Paragua looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Barreto gets the takedown into side control.
Paragua prevents Barreto from improving position.
Barreto is looking to take a break and control but Paragua is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Barreto is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Paragua is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Paragua tries to improve position but can't.

Barreto remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Paragua is looking for a sweep.
Barreto wants to lay and pray for a moment but Paragua keeps working.

Barreto has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Barreto lands with a nice body punch.

Barreto clinches up against the cage.

Barreto breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Barreto takes the fight into the clinch.
Barreto is trying to stall.
Barreto jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Paragua walks away with a smile on his face. Barreto gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Barreto shoots for a double leg takedown but Paragua sprawls well. He's pushed Barreto's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Barreto has taken the fight to the clinch.
Barreto stalling in the clinch but Paragua improves position.

Barreto escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Barreto scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Barreto swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Paragua stuffs the takedown.
el Paragua has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roberto Barreto.
Barreto moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Paragua shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Paragua showed some decent athleticism there.

Paragua tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Paragua prevents Barreto from improving his position.
Paragua wants to control but Barreto is keeping him busy.

Barreto is refusing to be controlled, as Paragua sits in half guard.
Barreto tries to kick Paragua off but Paragua keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Barreto is trying to control but can't.
Barreto is looking to escape.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Paragua shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Barreto's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Paragua accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Paragua avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Barreto pulls Paragua in close to his closed guard and prevents Paragua from doing any damage or advancing position.
Paragua is in close to Barreto's body, working some short punches and elbows.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Barreto shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Paragua counters with a shoot takedown. Barreto fights it but they end up in guard.

Paragua won't allow Barreto to sweep him here.

Barreto is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Paragua rolls with it to try and escape but Barreto cranks on the arm and Paragua is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
