Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lee Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eduardo Sosa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lee Thomas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eduardo Sosa!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sosa is trying hard to land a takedown here. Thomas sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Horrible takedown by Sosa or perhaps it was just good defense by Thomas which made him look bad.
Sosa fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Lee Thomas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eduardo Sosa.

Thomas takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Sosa is trying to stand back up but Thomas is controlling him
Well, if Thomas is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Sosa has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Thomas is working away from the top position though.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Thomas lands a nice short elbow.

Sosa is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Sosa looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Sosa keeping moving, preventing Thomas from controlling successfully.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Sosa wants to clinch up but Thomas keeps it at a distance.
Thomas tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sosa paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Sosa doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Thomas counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Sosa's guard now.

Sosa isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Thomas stacks Sosa on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Thomas!
Sosa is looking for a sweep.

Thomas is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sosa knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Thomas decides to stand back up. Thomas steps back and let's Sosa get back to his feet.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Sosa escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Thomas gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Thomas here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Sosa is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sosa is on top in guard.
Sosa won't allow Thomas to get back to his feet.
Sosa would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Sosa drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sosa jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Thomas looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sosa is one step ahead there.
Thomas utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Sosa trying to stand up but can't free himself from Thomas's guard.
Thomas knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sosa on the ground.

Sosa throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Thomas works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Thomas counters with a shoot takedown. Sosa fights it but they end up in guard.

Thomas got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sosa has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Thomas has managed to get both his arms back between Sosa's legs - danger averted.

Sosa doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Sosa is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Thomas rolls with it to try and escape but Sosa cranks on the arm and Thomas is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
