PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Miguel Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva comes into the arena with Rob Kelly feat.Slaine - Dropkicked blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Aleksandr Martynov and Ivan Kurochkin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Silva circles away quickly and effectively.
Black connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

It looks like Miguel Silva has been cut.
Black drops Silva with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Silva looks back up at him and smiles so Black waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Silva is rocked!
Black avoids the head kick by Silva.
Silva staying out of range there.
Silva avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Silva displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Black throws out the jab.
A jab-cross combination lands for Black and sends Silva crashing to the mat! Black follows him down to the mat - Silva regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
Oh Silva is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Black tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Silva.
Silva is looking to improve his position.

Black stands up and beckons Silva to join him on the feet.
Silva seems to have got his legs back now.

Silva clinches up against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Black's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Silva ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Silva no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Black avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Black pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Silva is keeping the position for now.

Silva had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Black is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Silva Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Black's back instead.

Black manages to reverse the position and now he's in Silva's guard. Nice work there by Black.

A decent looking cross lands there for Black.

Miguel Silva's cut is getting worse.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Silva.
Silva working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Black manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Silva really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Silva throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Silva is working for a kimura but Black is defending it quite comfortably.
Silva is breathing heavily.
Black moves into full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Silva advances to half guard.

Black bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Silva's head backwards.
Silva takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Black lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Black swings for the body but Silva moves out of range.
Black throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Black misses with a two punch combination.

Black gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Silva drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Black manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Silva has Black in his guard.

Silva is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Black stands up and waves to Silva to follow him.

Silva shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Black is trying to defend but Silva finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Silva is just content to waste time from the top position. Black takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Silva has gone for a leg lock! Black slips out almost immediately though and dives into Silva's guard.
Black wants to get up but he can't break Silva's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Black throws a low kick but it's checked well by Silva.

Good exchange - Black coming out on top.
Jack Black seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Black throws a lazy right hand but Silva sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Black looks to score with a jab to the body but Silva is just out of range.
Black misses with a wild body shot.
Black slips a jab from Silva.
Black fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Silva manages to avoid it.
Black lands with a cross.

Miguel Silva's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Black darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Oh Silva is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Jeez, Miguel Silva's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Black lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Silva keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Black throws a right hand that Silva ducks under and follows up with a left that Silva also avoids with ease.
Black throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Silva seems to have got his legs back now.

Silva has hold of one of Black's legs. Black is fighting the takedown attempt but Silva gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Black jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Silva lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Black throws a right hand that Silva ducks under and follows up with a left that Silva also avoids with ease.
