PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Hans Hoffmeister (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jin Kazama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kazama has chosen Mamma said Knock you out as his entrance music. Jin Kazama told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Hans Hoffmeister!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jin Kazama!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paulsen Ambrosius and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kazama closes the distance and clinches.
Kazama is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Kazama's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hoffmeister looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Hoffmeister shoots in for a double leg but Kazama sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Kazama with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Kazama connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Hoffmeister's hands.

Hoffmeister shoots in and bounces Kazama off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Kazama controlling the position.
Kazama wants to sweep here but Hoffmeister controlling him for the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hoffmeister tries to free his leg and advance position but Kazama is retaining full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hoffmeister drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Kazama dives on top into guard.
Kazama trying to control the position from guard on top but Hoffmeister is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hoffmeister wants to stand up but Kazama is controlling him.
Hoffmeister can't keep his opponent in guard - Kazama advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Kazama performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Hoffmeister tries to get to full guard but Kazama has control of the leg.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kazama trying to mount his opponent but Hoffmeister defends it.
Hoffmeister trying to control but Kazama postures up.
Hoffmeister is trying to get back to full guard.
Hoffmeister is working hard here to advance position.
Kazama really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hoffmeister. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hoffmeister is refusing to be controlled, as Kazama sits in half guard.
Hoffmeister works his way to full guard. Good work.
Kazama must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Kazama trying to stand up but can't free himself from Hoffmeister's guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Kazama throws a combination. Hoffmeister tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Hoffmeister is breathing heavily.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hoffmeister.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hans Hoffmeister. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kazama lands with a shot to the body.
Nice uppercut there from Kazama.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kazama misses with a two punch combination.
Jin Kazama is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kazama connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Hoffmeister tumbling to the canvas! Kazama pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Hoffmeister was done - good stoppage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Jin Kazama!
