PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Julian Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Hearst (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hearst has chosen Symphony of Destruction as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Julian Carter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, George Hearst!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hearst misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Carter stuffs the takedown attempt from Hearst. Hearst gets slowly back to his feet.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Carter - that will leave a mark!
Carter connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Hearst fails with a takedown attempt.

Carter feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Hearst is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Hearst is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Carter is aware though and is defending well.

Carter stands up and waves to Hearst to follow him.

Carter fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hearst, pushing him back against the cage.
Carter changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Hearst fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Hearst rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Carter moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Carter shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Carter was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

The referee warns Hearst that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Carter takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Carter wants to control the pace but Hearst is squirming around nicely.

Carter has hold of Hearst's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Hearst manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

BOOM! Carter connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Carter postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Hearst looks a forlorn figure.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Carter has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Hearst's face.

Carter has Hearst pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Hearst manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Hearst drops down looking for an ankle pick but Carter pulls his leg out and moves away.

Carter has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Hearst regains guard immediately.

Hearst is working an open guard so Carter takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Hearst crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Carter - the referee stops the clock and Hearst gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Carter. Hearst manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Carter shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hearst napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Carter decides to stand up, so the ref orders Hearst to his feet.

Carter shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hearst manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Carter shoots in and bounces Hearst off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Carter is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Hearst has managed to escape the submission attempt.
