Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dewayne Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Drunken Armadillo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Williams comes to the cage accompanied by Who shot ya. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Drunken Armadillo enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dewayne Williams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Drunken Armadillo!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Armadillo tries to score a power double leg takedown but Williams sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Armadillo somewhat.
Armadillo doesn't manage to clinch there - Williams circles away.
Armadillo shoots in but no luck this time.
Armadillo should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Williams throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Armadillo fails in his attempt to clinch.
Williams lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.


It looks like Drunken Armadillo has been cut.
Williams leaves Armadillo with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Dewayne Williams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Drunken Armadillo.
Williams fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Williams throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Armadillo was covering up waiting for the punch and Williams finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Williams avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Williams drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Williams jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Armadillo has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Williams can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Armadillo is striking from the bottom but Williams uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Armadillo keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Armadillo slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Williams controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Williams trying to control but Armadillo is working from the bottom.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Armadillo has his foot on Williams's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Williams works his way back into a safe position though.
Williams slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Williams is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Armadillo knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Williams trying to control the position but Armadillo is working away.

Williams tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Williams has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Armadillo manages to work his way to half guard, despite Williams's best efforts.

Armadillo is trying to keep Williams in close.
Williams stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Armadillo swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Williams stands and steps away. Armadillo gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Williams throws a head kick that misses.
Armadillo misses with a takedown attempt
and Williams counters with a nice low kick that buckles Armadillo's knee momentarily.
Williams misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Armadillo shoots for a double leg takedown but Williams sprawls well. He's pushed Armadillo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Williams takes the fight into the clinch.
Armadillo is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Williams manages to break the clinch.
Armadillo wants to clinch but Williams slips to the side

and Williams holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Williams scores with an uppercut up the middle.

Armadillo wants the takedown. Williams is fighting it off but Armadillo persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Williams's guard against the cage.

Armadillo got a little sloppy there for a moment and Williams has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Armadillo has managed to get both his arms back between Williams's legs - danger averted.

Williams pushes a forearm under Armadillo's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Armadillo is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Dewayne Williams!
