Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rolf Spicer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonny Grove (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rolf Spicer has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 10 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rolf Spicer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jonny Grove!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Illya Tyunina and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spicer tries to clinch up.
Rolf Spicer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Spicer is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Spicer tries to clinch but Grove is having none of it.

Spicer shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Spicer showed some decent athleticism there.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Grove working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Spicer doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Spicer manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Spicer is working Grove over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Spicer has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Grove is trying to keep Spicer in close.
Grove is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Spicer throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Grove tries to close the distance and clinch up but Spicer swats him away and circles back towards the center.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Spicer might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Grove had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Spicer is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Grove Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Spicer's back instead.
Grove has the hooks in. Spicer is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Spicer wants to get back to his feet.

Grove is persistently looking for the submission but Spicer is defending it well.
Spicer tries to escape the position.
Spicer has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.

Spicer won't enjoy being in this position. Grove looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Spicer is tapping - it's over boys! Grove picks up the submission victory!
