The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Boys moves into the clinch.
Rodriguez jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Boys walks away with a smile on his face. Rodriguez gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Boys gets caught flat footed, as Rodriguez shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Rodriguez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Boys swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Boys working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rodriguez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rodriguez manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Rodriguez wants to control from the top but Boys keeps moving.
Boys wants to get back to his feet but Rodriguez is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Rodriguez shoots in looking for a takedown. Boys tries to sprawl out of it but Rodriguez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Boys manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Boys rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rodriguez moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Boys lands a glancing blow to the side of Rodriguez's head.
Rodriguez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Boys scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Rodriguez doesn't seem bothered though.

Oooh a lovely combination from Boys sends Rodriguez down but not out. Boys dives into side control looking to finish.

Rodriguez is rocked!

It looks like ernesto valenzuela Rodriguez has been cut.

Boys has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Oh Rodriguez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Rodriguez shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Boys as he avoids it easily.
Boys Rushes Rodriguez and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Rodriguez is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Boys Piles on the pressure and Rodriguez crumples to the floor! This one is all over!
