The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Begeman is defended easily by Lashley.
Lashley is looking to clinch.
Lashley tries to clinch up but Begeman circles away and keeps his distance.
Lashley fails with the takedown
and Begeman counters with a three punch combo that has Lashley backing up. Lashley nods at Begeman to acknowledge the strikes.
Begeman moves in looking to clinch but Lashley pushes him off.
Begeman throws a push kick but Lashley slaps the foot to one side.
Begeman fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lashley, pushing him back against the cage.
Begeman tries to circle away but Lashley has him pinned against the cage.
Begeman lands with a light punch inside.
Begeman successfully pulls guard.
Begeman trying to control the position.
Lashley trying to control the position from guard on top but Begeman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Lashley loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Begeman is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Lashley has his hands clasped together but Begeman extends an breaks Lashley's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Begeman.
