The fighters circling - Madison throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Carano tightens his grip and picks Madison up, before dumping him to the ground. Madison manages to land in guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Madison wants to get back to his feet but Carano is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Carano stands up over Madison, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Carano throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Madison works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Carano has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Madison wants to stand up but Carano is controlling him.
Madison is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Carano lands a couple of elbows.

Carano drops back looking for a leg! Madison is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Madison manages to kick Carano off! Carano jumps back into Madison's guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Carano prevents Madison from getting back to his feet.
