Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Peter Davidson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, James Ellroy!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ellroy checks a low kick from Davidson.
Davidson attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Ellroy moves out of range as Davidson strikes.
Ellroy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Davidson tries to avoid it but Ellroy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Davidson to the ground. Davidson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Davidson lands a two punch combo.


It looks like James Ellroy has been cut.
Ellroy takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Davidson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ellroy stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Ellroy on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Davidson stands up over Ellroy, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Davidson lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Davidson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ellroy with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The referee asks Davidson politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Davidson prefers to stall for the moment though.
Ellroy is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Davidson remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Peter Davidson just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Davidson lands a head kick. Ellroy smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Davidson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Ellroy takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Davidson connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Davidson moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Ellroy's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Peter Davidson showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Davidson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
