Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mel Gray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Garvin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mel Gray!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paul Garvin!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Seu Braga and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garvin fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Gray tests Garvin's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Garvin takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Garvin should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Garvin takes one on the chin but seems OK.
It looks like Paul Garvin has been cut.
Garvin looks gassed!
Garvin tries to clinch up but Gray circles away and keeps his distance.
Gray leaves Garvin with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Gray lands a nice shot that snaps Garvin's head back.
Gray scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Gray cracks Garvin with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Gray has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Garvin to stand back up!
Mel Gray seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gray drops Garvin with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Garvin looks back up at him and smiles so Gray waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Garvin is rocked!
Garvin ducks into an uppercut from Gray and that's knocked him out cold! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Mel Gray!
