Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mark Bocek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sami Kykkonen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bocek comes to the cage accompanied by Song 2. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mark Bocek!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sami Kykkonen!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Roosa Järviläinen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bocek closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Bocek wants to control but Kykkonen is keeping him busy.
Bocek working the ground and pound.
Kykkonen is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Bocek is controlling him well.

Bocek stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Bocek shoots in and bounces Kykkonen off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Bocek throwing strikes but missing.
Bocek wants to control from the top but Kykkonen keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Bocek stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Kykkonen lands with a straight right. Bocek didn't see that one coming.
Kykkonen pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Kykkonen misses with a body shot.
Kykkonen throws a looping overhand right but Bocek ducks down to avoid it.
Bocek closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kykkonen circles away.

Bocek drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kykkonen is looking to stand up but Bocek isn't so interested in that idea.
Bocek stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kykkonen swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Bocek trying to control but Kykkonen is working from the bottom.
Kykkonen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bocek. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Bocek is really struggling to control Kykkonen but he's trying to hold on to the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bocek wants to pass the guard but Kykkonen is keeping the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Bocek looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Bocek avoids a punch combination nicely.
Kykkonen lands with a nice combination. Bocek backs away looking to recover.
Bocek closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kykkonen circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Bocek. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bocek shoots in for a takedown but Kykkonen shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Bocek shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kykkonen pinned against the cage. Kykkonen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Kykkonen changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Bocek is breathing heavily.
Kykkonen throws out a powerful jab.
Sami Kykkonen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Nice takedown defense from Kykkonen. No joy for Bocek on that attempt.
Bocek throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sami Kykkonen dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Kykkonen throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Bocek stumbling backwards into the cage! Bocek bounces back off the cage towards Kykkonen, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Kykkonen lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Kykkonen celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Sami Kykkonen!
Sami Kykkonen is the new lightweight champion!
