Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Matt Waddy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Markku Koskela (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Waddy comes into the arena with Hurt - T.I. blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Matt Waddy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Markku Koskela!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Arvi Lind and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Koskela, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Waddy takes one to the side of the head.
Waddy stuffs the takedown.
Koskela wants to clinch.
Waddy lands with a kick to the ribs.

Waddy shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Koskela's guard.
Waddy tries to stand but Koskela is controlling from the bottom.
Waddy makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Koskela is on top in guard.
Waddy wants to get back to his feet but Koskela is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Koskela is looking to work some ground and pound but Waddy has wrist control.
Koskela lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Koskela is working Waddy over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Waddy pushes Koskela off and scrambles back to his feet.

Waddy feints and as Koskela raises his hands in defense, Waddy changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Connects with an elbow from the bottom, proving to the judges that he's still active off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Koskela throws a low kick, looking for Waddy's leg but Waddy calmly moves out of range.
Koskela slips a jab and a cross from Waddy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Koskela misses with a straight left.

Waddy moves away from the strike by Koskela.
Koskela looks to land a left hand but Waddy moved out of range nicely.

Waddy closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Waddy lands a nice short elbow.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Koskela is desperately trying to improve his position but Waddy has a good base and remains in mount.
Koskela wants to hold on but Waddy pushes him away.

Waddy looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Koskela looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Waddy is fending him off so far but Koskela persists. Nope, Waddy circles away and we're back to standing.
