The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kindbom avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Kindbom shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Kindbom takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Kindbom is trying to control. Johnz wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Kindbom tries to pass to full mount but Johnz defends it.

Kindbom perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Johnz tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kindbom swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Johnz cracks Kindbom with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Johnz tries to clinch up but Kindbom circles away and keeps his distance.

Kindbom shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Kindbom looks to land a strike but Johnz avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kindbom wants to control from the top but Johnz keeps moving.

Kindbom has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Johnz clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Kindbom is looking for a rear naked choke here but Johnz reverses the position brilliantly into Kindbom's guard!

Kindbom wants to stand but Johnz is controlling the position.
Kindbom is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Kindbom wants to sweep but no luck.
Johnz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kindbom swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kindbom bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Johnz's guard.
Kindbom stands and throws Johnz's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Kindbom looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Johnz is avoiding damage well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Kindbom tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kindbom has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Daniel Kindbom showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Kindbom is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Johnz frees his head nicely. Oh but Kindbom has switched to an armbar! Johnz is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
