The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dawson leaves Nunez with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Dawson lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

It looks like Julio Nunez has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Nunez decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dawson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Nunez is working away from the top position though.

Nunez is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nunez looks gassed!
Dawson wants to get back to his feet.

Nunez is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Dawson has managed to free his arm - good work.
Dawson pushes Nunez off looking to stand but Nunez dives back in and keeps control.
Dawson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Dawson looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Nunez is defending well. Dawson quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Nunez has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Dawson celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
