Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hickson Grice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kendrell Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson has chosen 2-Pac (Hit Em Up) as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Kendrell Johnson enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hickson Grice!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kendrell Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Steve Erwin and Skip Squint.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grice shoots in and drives through. Johnson sprawls well.
Grice tries for a takedown but Johnson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Johnson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Grice looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Johnson in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Grice sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Johnson throwing shots but Grice is blocking nicely.
Grice landing rabbit punches to the side of Johnson's head. Not doing much damage but still scoring a few points.
Grice is looking to improve his position.

Johnson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Johnson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Grice tries to bench press Johnson off him but Johnson keeps the position.

Johnson clinches up with Grice and pushes him back against the cage.
Johnson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Grice smiles and moves away.

and Johnson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Grice's guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hickson Grice. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Grice will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Johnson tries to free his leg and advance position but Grice is retaining full guard.
