Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Alex McAndrew (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shujinko Chung (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chung has chosen Mortal Mombat theme as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Alex McAndrew has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alex McAndrew!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Shujinko Chung!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Eliza Hachem and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McAndrew fails with an attempt to clinch.

Chung had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. McAndrew is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Chung Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take McAndrew's back instead.

Chung is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so McAndrew is just riding it out for now. Chung eventually gives up the hold.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now McAndrew is on top in guard.

McAndrew is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Chung working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McAndrew doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. McAndrew manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

McAndrew stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Chung swivels though and keeps the full guard.
McAndrew is looking to work some ground and pound but Chung has wrist control.

McAndrew closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Chung is in all sorts of trouble here.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, McAndrew cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

McAndrew is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Chung doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time McAndrew.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
McAndrew tries to close the distance and clinch up but Chung swats him away and circles back towards the center.

McAndrew shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Chung's guard.

McAndrew doesn't manage to clinch there - Chung circles away.

Chung is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and McAndrew defends well.

McAndrew cracks Chung with a solid left hand.
McAndrew lands a couple of digs.
McAndrew slips nicely into half guard.
McAndrew thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Chung's head.

McAndrew is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
McAndrew is looking to advance position but Chung won't allow it.
Chung is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of McAndrew's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take McAndrew's back!
McAndrew manages to reverse the position and now he's in Chung's guard. Nice work there by McAndrew.
