Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Roy Batty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Neil Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Re-Education (Through Labor). Roy Batty has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Daniel Bishop and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab from Batty.
Batty misses with a wild combination.
Smith fails with the takedown.
Smith pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Batty throws a right and a left that both miss.
Smith fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

No joy there for Batty, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Smith closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Batty to the mat! Batty manages to get full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Smith accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Batty wants to stand and escape but Smith is having none of it.

Batty will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Batty wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

and Batty counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Batty will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Roy Batty will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Smith changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Batty tries to avoid it but Smith manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Batty to the ground. Batty escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Smith tries to land a front kick but Batty steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Horrible takedown by Smith or perhaps it was just good defense by Batty which made him look bad.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Batty parries the strikes from Smith easily there. Smith is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Batty to escape.
