The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Matti Vanhoillinen and Tarja Halkonen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Butler looks to land a combination but Suomela avoids it well.
Suomela shoots for a double leg takedown but Butler sprawls well. He's pushed Suomela's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Butler is looking to clinch but Suomela is avoiding it.
Butler shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Suomela counters with a shoot takedown. Butler fights it but they end up in guard.

Suomela thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Butler is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Butler wants to get back to his feet but Suomela is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Suomela wants to control from the top but Butler keeps moving.
Suomela controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Butler is trying to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Butler is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Suomela prevents Butler from improving his position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Suomela works his way into full mount!
Butler tries to hold on but Suomela pushes him away.

Butler really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Suomela. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
