And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mirko Filipovic!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stevennson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Filipovic circles away quickly and effectively.
Some wild striking there from Stevennson.

Filipovic closes the distance and pushes Stevennson back into the cage.
Filipovic changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Stevennson fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Stevennson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Stevennson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Filipovic.

Filipovic takes the fight into the clinch.

Filipovic's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Stevennson throws a lazy head kick

and Filipovic holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Filipovic has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Stevennson uses from the top position.

Filipovic working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Stevennson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Stevennson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Filipovic is pulling down on Stevennson's head to control his posture.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Despite being in the dominant position, Mirko Filipovic just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Filipovic cracks Stevennson with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Stevennson looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Filipovic finish him?

Filipovic tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Stevennson just stands there and leans against the cage.
Filipovic goes for a takedown attempt but Stevennson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Stevennson stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Filipovic.
Filipovic rushes Stevennson with punches - Stevennson moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Stevennson goes down! Filipovic follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:37 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mirko Filipovic!
