Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Josh JC (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abbath Occulta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). JC comes to the cage accompanied by Smashmouth - Why Cant We Be Friends. Occulta has chosen Immortal - The Rise of Darkness as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Abbath Occulta!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Alan Glass and Chris Downing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
JC slips a jab from Occulta.
Occulta has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Occulta misses with a straight left.
Occulta cracks JC with an open hand slap.

It looks like Josh JC has been cut.
Occulta moves in looking to clinch but JC pushes him off.
A big right from Occulta misses.
No luck for JC with that takedown attempt.
Occulta displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from JC.

JC closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - JC lands in his opponent's guard.
JC working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
JC is looking to work some ground and pound but Occulta has wrist control.
Occulta trying to keep a closed guard but JC is proving a slippery customer.
JC thows a big elbow that misses.
JC wants to pass the guard but Occulta is keeping the position.
Occulta is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
JC is looking to improve his position.

Occulta takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Occulta prevents JC from improving his position.
Occulta works his foot free and advances to mount.
JC is looking to improve his position but Occulta isn't that keen on the idea.
A nice elbow there by Occulta.
JC gets back to half guard.
Occulta tries to pass the half guard into mount. JC knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Occulta takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Josh JC's cut is getting worse.
JC taking some punishment here, with Occulta in his half guard.
Occulta drops an elbow to the side of JC's head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
JC keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Occulta wants to stand up but JC has a hold of him and won't allow it.
JC moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Occulta postures up in JC's guard and throws a big left but JC blocks it.
JC wants to sweep here but Occulta controlling him for the moment.
JC is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

JC is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Occulta has managed to free his arm - good work.
JC throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Occulta has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. JC is working away from the top position though.
JC throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

JC is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
JC is breathing heavily.
Occulta tries to roll over but JC keeps him under control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Occulta trying to hold on to JC's head to control him but JC postures up.
Occulta moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
JC has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Occulta wants to stand but JC is controlling the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

JC closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

JC working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Occulta regains half guard.
Occulta is concentrating on defense, preventing JC from advancing position.
Occulta really doesn't want to stay on the ground with JC. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
JC lands with a punch from half guard.
JC wants to free his trapped foot but Occulta is holding on for dear life with his legs.

JC is looking for submissions but instead, Occulta has regained full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Occulta wants to stand up but JC is controlling him.
JC throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
JC throwing strikes but missing.
Occulta wants to sweep here but JC controlling him for the moment.
JC throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Occulta works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Occulta not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
JC slips under a jab from Occulta.
Occulta scores with a body shot.

A jab-cross combination lands for Occulta and sends JC crashing to the mat! Occulta follows him down to the mat - JC regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

JC is rocked!

Josh JC's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Josh JC's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
