The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Malik shoots in and bounces Rogers off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Rogers looking to control.
Malik throwing strikes but missing.
Rogers keeping moving, preventing Malik from controlling successfully.
Malik is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Rogers controls Malik momentarily but Malik frees himself.
Malik tries to free his leg and advance position but Rogers is retaining full guard.

Malik avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Rogers trying to keep a closed guard but Malik is proving a slippery customer.

Malik wants to stand but Rogers has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Malik wants to pass the guard but Rogers is keeping the position.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rogers is on top in guard.
Rogers pushing down on Malik's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Malik trying to hold on to Rogers's head to control him but Rogers postures up.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Malik is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
