The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De La Rosa shoots in but Tanaka avoids the takedown attempt easily.
De La Rosa throws a sloppy head kick and Tanaka moves out of range easily.
De La Rosa pulls out of a head kick attempt.
De La Rosa is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
De La Rosa throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Tanaka scores with a hook.

De La Rosa misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Tanaka lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but De La Rosa circles away quickly and effectively.
Tanaka throws a combination but it was largely blocked by De La Rosa.
Tanaka throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around De La Rosa's waist but De La Rosa gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Tanaka off to one side.
No luck for Tanaka with that takedown attempt.
De La Rosa looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Tanaka lands with a big left! De La Rosa is wobbled badly! Tanaka comes in with a flurry of punches and drops De La Rosa to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.
