Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Giovanni Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and MAX CONDOR (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Giovanni Emelianenko has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Giovanni Emelianenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, MAX CONDOR!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Paulo Santos and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from CONDOR as Emelianenko shoots in.
Emelianenko shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts CONDOR as he jumps to the side.
Emelianenko tries to close the distance and clinch but CONDOR swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Emelianenko fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but CONDOR is out of range.

CONDOR bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
CONDOR wants to control but Emelianenko is keeping him busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Emelianenko seems a little lost for a moment, as CONDOR dominates the positioning.
Emelianenko is looking to regain half guard here but CONDOR keeps moving and retains side control.
CONDOR remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Emelianenko wants to get back to his feet but CONDOR drags him back down.

A lull in the action here.
Emelianenko is looking for a sweep.
Sloppy strikes there by CONDOR.
CONDOR wants to control but Emelianenko is keeping him busy.
CONDOR working away.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

CONDOR scores with a takedown into Emelianenko's guard.
Emelianenko wants to stand up but CONDOR is controlling him.

Emelianenko looking for a sweep. Not yet Emelianenko, not yet.
CONDOR landing with the ground and pound.
CONDOR content to stall in guard here.
CONDOR wants to control from the top but Emelianenko keeps moving.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
CONDOR tries to free his leg and advance position but Emelianenko is retaining full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Emelianenko is looking to clinch.
Nice defenses there by CONDOR.
CONDOR throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Emelianenko is breathing heavily.
CONDOR with a poor takedown

and Emelianenko counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
CONDOR manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
CONDOR wants to control the pace but Emelianenko is squirming around nicely.
Emelianenko tries to hold on but CONDOR postures up.
Emelianenko is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Emelianenko is looking to get to half guard.
CONDOR pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Emelianenko is trying desperately to improve position.
Emelianenko is trying to reverse the position but instead CONDOR has taken his back - oops!
Emelianenko trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
CONDOR lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Emelianenko.
CONDOR controlling the position well here. Emelianenko rolled but CONDOR kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Emelianenko can't escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

MAX CONDOR dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



CONDOR shoots in and bounces Emelianenko off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
CONDOR advances position into side control!
You can see the frustration on Emelianenko's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

CONDOR is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Emelianenko knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Emelianenko wants to control but CONDOR postures up.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Emelianenko is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked CONDOR off and has taken his back!

Emelianenko tightening his grip on CONDOR, looking for the choke.
CONDOR breaks Emelianenko's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells CONDOR's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
CONDOR tries to free his leg and advance position but Emelianenko is retaining full guard.
Emelianenko manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Emelianenko controlling the pace for now.

Emelianenko is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. CONDOR can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

CONDOR tries to get back to half guard but can't.
CONDOR wants to hold on but Emelianenko pushes him away.
CONDOR sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

CONDOR looking for submissions off his back.
Emelianenko trying to mount his opponent but CONDOR defends it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Emelianenko sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. CONDOR defending well though.

Emelianenko wants to work for an arm triangle but CONDOR is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
CONDOR is trying to get back to full guard.
Emelianenko looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
CONDOR is pressing down on Emelianenko's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Emelianenko trying to stand up but can't free himself from CONDOR's guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Emelianenko tries to bum rush CONDOR with a series of wild strikes but CONDOR uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Emelianenko swings and misses with a hook to the body.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Emelianenko tries to close the distance and clinch but CONDOR swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Emelianenko has his takedown stuffed

so CONDOR counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Emelianenko has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but CONDOR can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Emelianenko tries to land a sweep but no joy.

CONDOR is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

MAX CONDOR showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Emelianenko throws a leg kick that is checked

and CONDOR decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Emelianenko's guard.

Emelianenko had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. CONDOR is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Emelianenko Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take CONDOR's back instead.
CONDOR trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
CONDOR breaks Emelianenko's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
CONDOR trying to control but Emelianenko is working from the bottom.
CONDOR stands and throws Emelianenko's legs to the side, diving into side control.

CONDOR is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Emelianenko is trying to escape and CONDOR transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Emelianenko is forced to tap! Nice work there by CONDOR! Very nice indeed!
