The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Patriarkki connects with a body shot.
Jab, jab by Patriarkki - just one landing.
Patriarkki shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rikkoja pinned against the cage. Rikkoja gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Patriarkki lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Rikkoja sprawling to the canvas. Patriarkki follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Rikkoja hang on?

Rikkoja is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Patriarkki is just riding it out for now. Rikkoja eventually gives up the hold.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rikkoja is controlling the pace.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Patriarkki is refusing to be controlled, as Rikkoja sits in half guard.
Patriarkki is trying to stand up here but Rikkoja is controlling him well.

Patriarkki throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Rikkoja stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Rikkoja holds on and takes a little breather.
