Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chip Freedom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David North (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Freedom comes to the cage accompanied by Star Spangled Banner. North has chosen 'Mr. Roboto' by Styx as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
North throws a head kick that misses.
North keeps Freedom at a distance using the push kick.
North misses with a body kick.

North throws a head kick that Freedom semi-blocks.
Freedom shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with North but North pushes him off and we're back to square one.

North closes the distance and clinches.
North tries a knee to the head but Freedom blocks it.

North's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

North tries to break the clinch but Freedom is controlling the position.
Freedom blocks a punch to the side of the head.
North tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
North looks gassed!
Freedom lands an elbow inside.

It looks like David North has been cut.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

North digs a right hand underneath Freedom's ribcage. Freedom let out a lung full of air as it connected.

North is fighting off a takedown attempt but Freedom is just too persistent for him and manages to trip North to the mat. North regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

North really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Freedom. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Freedom's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

North is trying to buck Freedom off.
Freedom content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
The ground and pound from Freedom seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Freedom is looking to take a break and control but North is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
North dodges the ground and pound from Freedom.
Freedom throws an elbow but North slips to the side and avoids it well.
Freedom fails to land a wild elbow strike.

That's time! Freedom's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Freedom.
North thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Freedom if he has to take too many more of those.
North explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Freedom is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by North.
North lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Freedom at a distance.

Freedom bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
North is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

North pushes Freedom away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Freedom gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

North is pushing Freedom's head away, looking to escape. Freedom manages to hold on to the position though.
North is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

North drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Freedom stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. North swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Freedom is trying to control the action in half guard but North is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Freedom thows a huge punch but North dodges it nicely.

Freedom is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Freedom seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
David North has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if North can do anything to dispel that myth.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
North tries to kick Freedom off but Freedom keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well Freedom has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
