Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Gorvinskichev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Gorvinskichev might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to New Noise. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Steve Gorvinskichev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jon Silva!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Emerson Jorge and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gorvinskichev clobbers Silva with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.


It looks like Jon Silva has been cut.
Silva throws a head kick that looked like it stung.


It looks like Steve Gorvinskichev has been cut.
Gorvinskichev steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Silva. That one must have hurt.
Gorvinskichev throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Silva tries a head kick but it misses.
Silva tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Gorvinskichev throws a right hand that Silva ducks under and follows up with a left that Silva also avoids with ease.
Silva avoids a punch combination nicely.
Silva dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gorvinskichev avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Silva tries to clinch up but Gorvinskichev circles away and keeps his distance.
Gorvinskichev throws a right hand that Silva ducks under and follows up with a left that Silva also avoids with ease.
Silva goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Gorvinskichev misses with a two punch combination.
Silva takes one on the button.
Silva changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gorvinskichev tries to avoid it but Silva manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gorvinskichev to the ground. Gorvinskichev escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A big right from Gorvinskichev misses.
Gorvinskichev throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gorvinskichev scores with a nice right hand.
Gorvinskichev misses the shot to the body.
Silva is looking to clinch.
Gorvinskichev ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Silva looks gassed!
Silva takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Gorvinskichev lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.


That has opened up Jon Silva's cut even more.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Silva takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Gorvinskichev shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Silva manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Gorvinskichev is stalling in the full guard.
Gorvinskichev pushing down on Silva's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gorvinskichev seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silva blocking the ground and pound attempt from Gorvinskichev.
Gorvinskichev content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gorvinskichev is trying to control. Silva wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Gorvinskichev controlling the action here.
Gorvinskichev is looking to take a break and control but Silva is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Steve Gorvinskichev just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Jab, jab by Gorvinskichev - just one landing.
Silva cracks a nice hook into Gorvinskichev's ribs.
Gorvinskichev shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Silva as he jumps to the side.
Gorvinskichev circles away from the clinch attempt.
Silva shoots for a takedown but Gorvinskichev saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Silva closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Silva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gorvinskichev. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Gorvinskichev is trying to get back to half guard.
Gorvinskichev wants to control but Silva postures up.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Gorvinskichev is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Silva trying to control from half guard but Gorvinskichev is working away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Steve Gorvinskichev dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Gorvinskichev avoids the head kick by Silva.
Silva tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gorvinskichev swivels and escapes.

and Gorvinskichev counters with a series of strikes. Silva will be more careful next time no doubt.
Gorvinskichev lands a with a good body shot.
Gorvinskichev punishes Silva's body with a nice straight punch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Gorvinskichev!
Gorvinskichev comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Gorvinskichev misses with the combination.
Silva ducks right into an uppercut from Gorvinskichev.


The cut above Jon Silva's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Gorvinskichev scores a takedown into full mount!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Gorvinskichev looking to isolate an arm here. Silva doesn't see it coming and as Gorvinskichev extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Gorvinskichev!
