Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Billy Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arek Szleszynski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Szleszynski has chosen Disturbed - Voices as his entrance music. The key to victory for Billy Wallace has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Billy Wallace!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Arek Szleszynski!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wallace gets a clinch.
Wallace gets underhooks to prevent Szleszynski's takedown attempt.
Wallace wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wallace shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Szleszynski's guard.

Szleszynski has his foot on Wallace's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wallace works his way back into a safe position though.

Wallace thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Szleszynski's head.
Szleszynski wants to control but Wallace passes into side.
Szleszynski is looking to reverse the position.

Wallace has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Wallace shoots for a takedown but Szleszynski saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Wallace misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Wallace slaps away a takedown attempt from Szleszynski, before circling back to the center of the mat.

and Szleszynski takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Wallace lands with a kick to the ribs.
Szleszynski takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Wallace throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Szleszynski on the side of the head.
Billy Wallace seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wallace lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Szleszynski gets caught flat footed, as Wallace shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Wallace makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Wallace throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Wallace lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Wallace tries to clinch there but Szleszynski circles away.
Wallace is looking to clinch but Szleszynski is avoiding it.
Szleszynski swats away the attempt to clinch by Wallace.
Wallace throws out a powerful jab.

Wallace misses with a jab, cross combination.

Wallace clinches up with Szleszynski and pushes him back against the cage.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Szleszynski has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Wallace avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Szleszynski stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wallace swivels though and keeps the full guard.

and Szleszynski counters with a nice low kick that buckles Wallace's knee momentarily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Wallace tries to clinch but Szleszynski is having none of it.
Wallace lands a jab to the head.

Wallace clinches up against the cage.
Szleszynski is trying to drag Wallace to the mat but Wallace just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Szleszynski swings wildly with an uppercut but Wallace uses good head movement to avoid it.

Szleszynski jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Wallace walks away with a smile on his face. Szleszynski gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
