Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Martti Syrja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred Flintstone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A decent looking body kick lands there for Flintstone.
Syrja will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Flintstone keeping moving, preventing Syrja from controlling successfully.
Syrja missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Flintstone is trying to hold Syrja in close to prevent damage but Syrja has managed to pass into half guard.

Flintstone wants to control but Syrja is having none of it.

Syrja has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Flintstone is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Flintstone tries to hold on but Syrja pushes him away.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Syrja is landing with some decent strikes but Flintstone is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Syrja lands a big shot there that rocks Flintstone but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Flintstone tries to lock up and control but Syrja gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Flintstone is squirming around, avoiding Syrja's attempts to control the action.

Syrja looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Flintstone keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

so Syrja counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Syrja wants to control from the top but Flintstone keeps moving.
Martti Syrja overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Syrja advances position into side control!
Syrja takes a little break here. Flintstone wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Syrja is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Flintstone is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Syrja is working to tighten is grip on Flintstone's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Flintstone has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Syrja is really squeezing tight and eventually Flintstone passes out! Syrja breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
