The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barros digs a good body shot into Alexander's ribs.
Alexander is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Barros.

Barros clinches up against the cage.
Alexander lands a nice elbow.

It looks like Yago Barros has been cut.
Alexander has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Barros avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Barros is trying to control but can't.

Alexander is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Barros doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Alexander.

Barros wants to stand and escape but Alexander is having none of it.

Alexander stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Barros swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Alexander thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Alexander won't allow Barros to sweep him here.
Alexander wants to control from the top but Barros keeps moving.
Barros is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Alexander is controlling him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Alexander is looking to clinch but Barros is avoiding it.
