Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mariano Castro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Frank Joseph!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Edson Gomes and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Castro looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Joseph!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Castro prevents Joseph from getting the reversal.
BOOM! Castro connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Joseph is trying desperately to improve position.
Joseph is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Castro unloading with bombs!
Castro thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Joseph working to try and regain half guard.
Joseph takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Castro pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Castro sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Joseph keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Joseph is wriggling around trying to escape.
Castro cracks Joseph with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Joseph holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Castro tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Joseph really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Castro has hold of Joseph's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Joseph manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Castro trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Joseph can't escape the position.
Castro is landing with some decent strikes but Joseph is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Joseph tries to reverse the position but Castro maintains control.

Castro is working for a guillotine from mount but Joseph frees his head quite easily.

Castro lands a decent elbow from side control.

Castro decides to stand up, so the ref orders Joseph to his feet.

Castro pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Castro shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Joseph is trying to defend but Castro finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Joseph tries to roll over but Castro keeps him under control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Castro is trying to control. Joseph wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Joseph is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Castro has latched onto it... Big trouble! Castro pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Joseph is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Castro!
