PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Davor Sakic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brad Hallow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Sakic might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Hail mary Tupac Shakur. Hallow has chosen AC/DC - Hells Bells as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Davor Sakic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brad Hallow!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Reed Andrews and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hallow swats away the attempt to clinch by Sakic.

Sakic gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
A short body shot lands from Hallow as the two fighters clinch.
Hallow can't break the clinch.
Stalling in the clinch from Hallow.
Sakic tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Hallow lands a hook to the side of the head.

Sakic tries for a takedown but Hallow manages to get underhooks.

A quick uppercut on the inside from Hallow.

Sakic throws a knee to the head but misses.

Hallow escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hallow closes the distance looking to clinch
and Sakic connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

and Sakic moves into the clinch.
Sakic connects with a nasty looking knee right to Hallow's face.

Hallow decides to pull guard.

Sakic drops back, looking for a kneebar! Hallow looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Hallow looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Hallow!
Sakic is breathing heavily.
Hallow is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Sakic will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hallow looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Sakic looks to move to half guard but instead Hallow has passed into mount! Damn!
Sakic sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Sakic tries to kick Hallow off in order to stand up. Hallow Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Sakic gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Hallow is trying to work for a kimura but Sakic is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sakic wants to get back to his feet.
Hallow is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Sakic tries to get to full guard but Hallow has control of the leg.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Hallow with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Sakic is looking to control Hallow's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Sakic avoid being mounted?
Sakic tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Hallow has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Sakic is trying desperately to improve position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Hallow moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Sakic has worked his arm free - good work by Sakic!
Sakic tries to bench press Hallow off him but Hallow keeps the position.
Sakic is trying to buck Hallow off.
Sakic tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brad Hallow dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Hallow moves into the clinch successfully.
Sakic with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Hallow lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Sakic goes for a takedown in the clinch but Hallow prevents it.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Hallow as Sakic tries to tie him up.
Sakic has Hallow pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Hallow manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
A nice left hand lands by Hallow.
Hallow lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Hallow scores with a nice hook to the head.

Hallow decides to pull guard.

Hallow scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Hallow tries to close the distance and clinch but Sakic swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Hallow clinches up with Sakic and pushes him back against the cage.
Hallow lands a left hand that snaps the head of Sakic backwards.
Hallow lands a right hand.
A nice left hand lands by Hallow.

Hallow is trying to trip Sakic. He has hold of a leg but Sakic is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Hallow persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Sakic trying to control the position.
Hallow wants to control from the top but Sakic keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hallow slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Hallow thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Hallow is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sakic knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Hallow tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Hallow can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sakic is looking to escape.
Sakic keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Brad Hallow showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Hallow rushes Sakic and presses him up against the cage.
Sakic takes a shot to the head.
Sakic misses with a knee strike.
A bit of stalling here from Hallow.
Sakic's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Sakic wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Hallow has him pressed against the cage.
Hallow scores with a shot to the side of Sakic's head.

Hallow gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Sakic regains guard.

Sakic is looking for a triangle here but Hallow uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Hallow is looking to take a break and control but Sakic is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Sakic is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Hallow advances to mount.
Sakic is wriggling around trying to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sakic is working hard here to advance position.

Sakic defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Hallow.
Sakic is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Sakic wants to control but Hallow is having none of it.
Sakic in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

Sakic is squirming around, avoiding Hallow's attempts to control the action.
Brad Hallow is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Hallow looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Sakic bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Hallow has his hands on Sakic's head, controlling the position.

Sakic postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hallow is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Sakic, into his guard.

Sakic isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Hallow stacks Sakic on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Hallow!

Sakic manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Brad Hallow comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Hallow winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
