The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lundeen throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Lundeen drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Alves tries to escape but Lundeen is in control.
Lundeen lands a decent elbow from side control.
Lundeen is looking to take a break and control but Alves is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee is taking a good look at Alves as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Lundeen!
You can see the frustration on Alves's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Lundeen is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Alves is defending well though. Lundeen let's go of the attempt for now.

Lundeen has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Alves has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Lundeen has the hooks in. Alves is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Lundeen takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Lundeen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Alves keeps working.
Lundeen thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Alves's head.
Still in half guard, Lundeen seems content to control.

Lundeen shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Alves's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Lundeen stops Alves from standing up.
Lundeen thows a big elbow that misses.
Alves is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Lundeen passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Alves is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Lundeen asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Alves takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Lundeen stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Lundeen tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Alves blocks a head kick by Lundeen.
Lundeen takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Alves fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Lundeen moves into the clinch.

Lundeen lands a hook to the side of the head.
Lundeen is looking to control Alves's arms but Alves gets an underhook and turns him. Now Lundeen has his back to the cage.
Alves has had enough of the clinch but Lundeen keeps him there for the moment.
Still in the clinch, Alves scores with a nice short uppercut.

Lundeen tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Alves has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Lundeen avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Alves escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Lundeen takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Lundeen gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Alves.
Lundeen scores with a jab. Alves acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Alves throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Lundeen is rocked!
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Alves! Lundeen is out on his feet! Alves rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Lundeen is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Lundeen is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
