The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A solid leg kick lands there for Tice.
Tice stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Veeee.
Veeee tries a head kick but it misses.
Tice digs a good body shot into Veeee's ribs.
Veeee misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Veeee circles away from the clinch attempt.
Tice lands a two punch combo.
Veeee goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Veeee swats away the attempt to clinch by Tice.
Tice shoots in but no luck this time.

Tice fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Veeee sprawls well initially but Tice persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Tice decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Tice feints and as Veeee raises his hands in defense, Tice changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Veeee is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Tice slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Veeee is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Tice is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Tice gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Veeee tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Tice paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Brandon Veeee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Veeee gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Tice to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Tice wants to get up but he can't break Veeee's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Tice pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Veeee fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Tice, pushing him back against the cage.
Veeee blocks an elbow strike from Tice.

Tice ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Tice no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Tice has Veeee pulled in close to control his posture.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Tice wants to stand and escape but Veeee is having none of it.
Tice is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Tice wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Veeee throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Tice rushes Veeee and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Tice lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Veeee backwards.

Tice is fighting off a takedown attempt but Veeee is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Tice to the mat. Tice regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
