Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Cross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fighter Guy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cross comes to the cage accompanied by The New Black by Every Time I Die. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, David Cross!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Fighter Guy!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Marco Blurström and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice shot by Cross.
Cross scores with a body shot.
David Cross seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Guy moves out of range as Cross strikes.
Cross slips under a jab from Guy.

Guy drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Cross looking to hit a scissor sweep but Guy is one step ahead there.
Guy won't allow Cross to get back to his feet.
Guy throwing strikes from guard but Cross blocks nicely.
Guy forces his way into half guard.
Cross is trying to stand back up but Guy is controlling him
Cross tries to get to full guard but Guy has control of the leg.
Cross is looking to escape.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Guy just misses with a punch to the body.
Cross cracks Guy with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Cross lands with an overhand left.
Guy scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!


It looks like David Cross has been cut.
Cross is breathing heavily.
Guy fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Cross falls off balance throwing a combination

and Guy counters with a nice double leg into side control. Cross won't be happy with that.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Guy postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Guy is looking to take a break and control but Cross is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Guy tries for a kimura but Cross is defending well.
Guy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cross keeps working.
Guy is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Guy has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Guy tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Cross wants to get back to his feet.
Guy throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Guy is looking to take a break and control but Cross is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Guy looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Guy working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cross tries to bench press Guy off him but Guy keeps the position.
Cross is not content to let Guy control the position.
Cross is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Guy's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Guy throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Guy is looking for a kimura but Cross is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Guy to get the leverage.

Guy is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Cross sees it coming and defends easily.
Cross wants to improve his position but Guy is controlling well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Guy is looking for a kimura here.
Guy is thwarting Cross's attempts to control the position.
Cross tries to roll over but Guy keeps him under control.
Guy is trying to control. Cross wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Cross throws a series of punches but Guy avoids them all with ease.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cross throws a lazy head kick
and Guy counters with a one-two to the body.
Cross scores with a jab to the head.
Guy shoots in for a double leg but Cross sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Guy lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cross circles away quickly and effectively.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fighter Guy dominated that round.
The cut man is working on David Cross's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Guy gets a clinch.
Cross digs a right hand underneath Guy's ribcage. Guy let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Cross has Guy pressed against the cage, preventing Guy from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Cross pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Cross throws a left and a right that both miss
and Guy counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
A head kick misses from Guy.
Guy pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Cross throws a hook but Guy blocks it.
Cross throws a sloppy body shot
and Guy counters with a nice leg kick.
Cross throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Guy fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Guy steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Cross.
Cross throws out a powerful jab.

Guy closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Cross breaks from the clinch.
Cross uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Guy.
Guy is looking to clinch.
Guy throws a jab but it's blocked by Cross.
Cross misses with the combination.
Cross tries to bum rush Guy with a series of wild strikes but Guy uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Guy drives through with a takedown into guard.

Guy is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Guy advances to half guard.

Guy is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Cross is trying to maintain the position but Guy is very close to passing his half guard.

Cross looks like he's trying to stand up.
Guy not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Guy sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Cross defending well though.
Cross is trying to stand back up but Guy is controlling him
Guy thows a huge punch but Cross dodges it nicely.

Guy seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Cross is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
