PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Force (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Buck Riddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buck Riddell told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Force!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Buck Riddell!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Ian Loll and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riddell throws a right hand that Force ducks under and follows up with a left that Force also avoids with ease.
Force tries for a takedown but Riddell sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Riddell throws a leg kick but Force checks it.
Some wild striking there from Riddell.
Riddell misses the shot to the body.
Riddell avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Force shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Force showed some decent athleticism there.
Force stalling.

Force is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Force slips a nice elbow through Riddell's hands, connecting with Riddell's forehead.
Riddell punching from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Force lands with a punch from half guard.
Riddell trying to control from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Force is trying to control the action in half guard but Riddell is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Force is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Riddell is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Force has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Riddell defend it? Force steps over the head and cranks it - Riddell is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Force!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). John Force!
