The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Steve Montenegro and Chad Campbell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Paul fails with the takedown.
Paul tries to bum rush Davis with a series of wild strikes but Davis uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Davis counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Paul!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Davis with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Paul is working to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Davis scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Paul is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Davis is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Davis goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Paul is on top in guard.

Davis is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Davis could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Paul is looking to take a break and control but Davis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Paul thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Davis's head.
Paul uses his free foot to push down on Davis's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Davis.
Paul avoids the attempt from Davis to control.

Davis looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!

I really don't envy Davis right now.
Paul avoiding Davis 's attempts to control his hands.
Davis is breathing heavily.
Paul tries to get the hooks in deep but Davis pushed the leg off.
Davis tries to escape the position.
Oooh a big shot gets through from Paul. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!
You can see the frustration on Davis's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Paul is working for a rear naked choke. Davis is not defending it well and Paul has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Davis refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Davis's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
