Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Terry Peart!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, James Kilgore!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Thiago Cunha and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kilgore stuffs the takedown attempt from Peart. Peart gets slowly back to his feet.
Peart looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Kilgore looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Peart!
Peart is wriggling around trying to escape.
Peart flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Kilgore throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Peart because Kilgore loaded up on that one.

Kilgore wants to finish this one by submission but Peart is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Kilgore.
Kilgore misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Kilgore scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kilgore wants to work for an arm triangle but Peart is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Kilgore is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Peart doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kilgore.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Kilgore is looking to control Peart's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kilgore avoid being mounted?
Peart is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Kilgore throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Peart was covering up waiting for the punch and Kilgore finishes the takedown easily into guard.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Peart with a lazy takedown attempt

and Kilgore counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Peart's guard now.
Kilgore stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Peart swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kilgore seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kilgore is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Peart's half guard.

Peart misses with a takedown

and Kilgore counters by moving into the clinch.

Kilgore has Peart pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Kilgore pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Peart tumbling to the mat - Kilgore dives into Peart's guard.

Peart is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kilgore is aware though and is defending well.
Kilgore must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Kilgore has gone for a leg lock! Peart slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kilgore's guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Kilgore feints and then cracks Peart's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Peart down.
Peart's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Peart duly obliges.
Kilgore tries to clinch but Peart is having none of it.

and Kilgore moves into the clinch.
Kilgore has Peart pressed against the cage, preventing Peart from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Kilgore drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Peart gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Kilgore is looking to control Peart's arms but Peart gets an underhook and turns him. Now Kilgore has his back to the cage.
Kilgore has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Peart is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Peart tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kilgore smiles and moves away.

Kilgore changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Peart looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Kilgore wants to lay and pray for a moment but Peart keeps working.

Kilgore wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Peart, who protects the arm well.
Peart tries to improve position but can't.
Peart tries to strike but it doesn't land.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Kilgore drives through with a takedown into guard.
Kilgore wants to control from the top but Peart keeps moving.
Peart working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kilgore.

James Kilgore comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Kilgore has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
