Smith comes to the cage accompanied by Redman - Da goodness. Frank Smith could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Julius Guida's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith swings away with a leg kick that misses.

Smith tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Guida paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Smith rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Guida moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Guida pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Guida throws a series of punches but Smith moves out of range.

Smith takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Smith scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Guida is rocked!

Smith clinches up with Guida and pushes him back against the cage.

Smith has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Guida regains guard immediately.
Smith slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Smith's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Smith wants to control from the top but Guida keeps moving.

Guida might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Smith kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Smith has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Guida is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Smith defends well.
